about

Following the success of my previous single that received radio airplay, “Put It in Your Head” is more of a return to slightly harder edged rock. The song deals with a failing relationship represented in the image of a band, and is essentially about moving out and starting life on one’s own. It was composed and recorded earlier this year in March, and was thereafter left in the production process for a while. This song was released to coincide with the three year anniversary of Frozen Coco’s first single. One more single from the triple album will be released soon, just before the record comes out, so stay tuned for that!

lyrics

VERSE 1
Put it in your head,
This working band is dead
There’ll be times when things you said
Begin to fill you in with dread instead

VERSE 2
All I really want
Is someone I can rely on
And when I’m looking down to turn
Myself around and face another day

CHORUS
There’s nothing no more,
I’m staying solo
You can speak your heart
But your words won’t buy you time

We’re riding low, so
I’d rather forgo
You can have your lot
But you can’t take what is mine

VERSE 3
From this moment on you say,
You’ll work with me if it’s OK
You can stay up night and day or chance a week of
Hard-earned pay and maybe I will change my ways

CHORUS
There’s nothing no more,
I’m staying solo
You can speak your heart
But your words don’t weigh a dime

We’re riding low, so
I’d rather forgo
You can have your lot
But you can’t take what is mine

VERSE 4
Do you count the fears
In every single light year?
You’ve been putting things on hold and now
You’re ready to unfold, but I’m already sold

CODA x3
You ain’t gonna rock me in the cradle
You ain’t gonna lock me in the stable
You ain’t gonna dock me on the cable
Today!
