about

Here it is, the debut solo single of Frozen Coco's Diyath Yavin, released 30/11/2012! The song idea all started out with a basic piano opening riff (no piano track made it to the final cut, it was replaced by guitar). Hours spent on what would become my solo debut single has led to an upbeat rock number, with plenty of lead guitar licks and a rather raucous vocal track. "Rock Nomad" is, at its essence, any hard rock musician's typical rock song... not that I would classify myself as entirely a rock composer anyway. Some of the lyrics are vaguely based off real life experiences and largely talk about a rock wanderer's dreams, thus the arrival at the title. This is completely home-produced and recorded; the rough quality of the mixing is intended to create the raw feel of a classic Rock N' Roll record. A big thanks goes to my awesome Frozen Coco buddy and amazing bassist, Bastián Nuñez for covering the department he does best on this track. All other instruments (save for drums which is a loop), composition, arrangement and lyrics are done by me. That said, hope you all enjoy the music!

lyrics

[RHYTHM GUITAR ARPEGGIOS INTRO]

VERSE 1

Yeah, I've been away for a long, long time
Ain't got no money, no not a single dime
Just let me hear some of that rock and rhyme,
'Cause I've been starved of that music, baby now that's a crime

VERSE 2

The folks at Massachusetts didn't care what I said,
So I headed down to Ohio instead
There I found my solace humming rock tunes in bed
And no one told me Frozen Coco's gone to my head

CHORUS

Small cash thinks she's wise but she's a nutty case,
Marksy always proves to be a big disgrace
Mr. Firebolt always keeps a pretty face
And I've had 'nuff of the Prophet and his sassy ways,
Don'tcha get the chase?

Rock on!

[LEAD GUITAR SOLO]

VERSE 3

Back in Ohio we sat down for a meal
Soon over dinner we had struck up a deal
When we wrapped up the contract it just seemed so surreal,
Who needs academics when you're rocking to kill?

CHORUS

Small cash thinks she's wise but she's a nutty case,
Marksy always proves to be a big disgrace
Mr. Firebolt always keeps a pretty face
And I've had 'nuff of the Prophet and his sassy ways,
Don'tcha get the chase?

VERSE 4

From then we set out to recruit a touring band
I had nothing with me but guitar in hand
We played the Land of Mines and God the one-night-stands,
Now those bloody fools rock as if they understand

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeeeaaah...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, yeah!
